This weekend started out with some secret pal goodness. I got home from work on Friday, to discover that my apartment management was nice enough to leave my secret pal package for me in my apartment. They were either being nice since I get home from work after the office closes, or they were really bored. Ooor maybe they just wanted to say hi to my doggie! Seems like everyone at my apartment is in love with my dog too.
As soon as I had my package open, Shiner had to inspect it, to make sure it was safe:
My Secret Pal sent me some great wool yarn, bamboo knitting needles, handmade stitch markers, and votive candle all in a fun Asian print bag!
Shiner's worried that I'll make him a pink sweater!
Thanks Secret Pal!
In other knitting news, I finished knitting Kevin's Ipod bag this weekend. I made up the pattern as I went along, and I think it worked out well.
Saturday morning, we took Shiner to the dog park near Kevin's apartment. He had soooo much fun! He sprinted after the super fast boxers, and tried to keep up. He really seemed to like the bigger dogs like the rottweilers and labs. There was a pond that a lot of dogs were swimming in, but Shiner's afraid of swimming. He played in the huge mud puddle instead. After deciding that mud smells and tastes good, he decided on a nice mud bath, and rolled around in it. He was the dirtiest dog there after that! His muddy self then decided to sit down in a clean, preoccupied stranger's lap! He ran and played till he was completely exausted. We were very glad they had doggie showers there, so we could clean him off. What a mess! Needless to say, he slept the rest of the day.
Sunday, we went to the science museum and saw the mummy exibit. It was neato. They actually had a real mummy out to see, and showed a cat scan of all of his bones inside. There were several statues and things from inside the tombs. I would love to go to Egypt someday and get to see all of the pyramids. It seems so awesome that these people built such amazing buildings with their bare hands. Someday...
