Evan turned a page on his newspaper, carefully manipulating it his one hand. On his table was an iced drink, dark in color, perhaps coffee, perhaps Cola. He looked over the lines then folded it and placed it on the table. He sighed and rubbed his neck, before scanning the crowd. Eye contacts was made briefly with Blanc then it passed. He looked musingly at nothing then picked up his drink and finished it.

Finally he stood, placing money on the table then he smiled at the Server who smiled warmly back, in the friendly familiarity of a regular customer and a good tipper that Evan was. Evan tucked the newspaper under his arm and wandered to the fountain, looking into the clear waters and watching the water cause ripples and patterns. Always so interesting.

ooc; I can be distracted by the ripples in a fountain like BURNING. XD;;

Blanc sat a good distance away, reading his own newspaper and discreetly monitoring Evan. But when that flicker of eye contact was made, Blanc knew he'd been spotted. Oh well, he wasn't too fussed by it. By the information Arthur had gathered, Evan was a professional in more than one way; skill forger with a mercenary background. His training was top-notch and Blanc knew he had the disadvantage in this round.

But he wasn't here to cause any trouble, simply talk and find out where things stood.

He continued to read the newspaper, glancing when Evan wandered to the fountain. It was a nice fountain, elegant, beautiful. After a few more minutes, Blanc folded up his newspaper, grabbed his briefcase and wandered over to the fountain, still remaining several feet away as he dug through his pockets and threw a few coins into the water.

"Make a wish." Evan said as the man who he had noticed tossed a few coins into the fountain, watching the new ripples added, merging and changing.

"Legends say It will come true." He straightened then and looked over at Blanc, making eye contact. "As long as you wish no harm that is."

Carefully he looked at the other man, noting the newspaper and briefcase. A smile flickered a moment on his face. But the thing that really held his attention was the man's face. He knew that face. He studied Blanc face carefully.

"You look a bit familiar... But not."

Blanc chuckles appreciatively, also watching the ripples in the water. "Three coins in the fountain, each one seeking happiness," he lightly sings, while musing over what his own wish would be. The safety of everyone involved, of course.

At Evan's follow up, he gave a slight chuckle and shook his head. "I think wishing for something harmful would counteract the sanctity of the wish and the powers of the fountain."

"Do I now?" Blanc looked over at Evan with an innocently curious expression even as he felt an ominous edge. But nonsense. It could have been nothing more than Ginia having old family pictures or something, though even that would make things difficult.

"Yeah well." Evan gave an expressive shrug. "I'm sure that doesn't stop some people from wishing harm through the fountain. Humans like to ruin sanctity." Evan's tone is light, but his expression for a moment is somber.

He nods once. "Yeah. Sorta like you could be related to someone I might have seen. Some similar features and what not. Oh well, could be my eyes just making stuff up that i want to see." Evan gives a rueful smile. He was right. This man resembled one of Ginia's projections.

ooc; Oh my god it's started to snow here.

Blanc thought over the words, giving a small stroke of his chin. It was true enough, if there was anything humans were good at, it was ruining things. But for all the faults of humanity, there were still plenty of beautiful things to hold onto. "Humans are beings of creativity and creation, but with the power of building, we also have the ability to destroy. Tragic."

If only Evan knew how accurate his words really were. Blanc chuckled quietly and gave an amiable smile even as he tried to figure how to proceed. "I suppose I have the kind of features that are common. And the eyes and mind are remarkable things."

ooc; Wow. I wonder if that means its showing in Seattle as well.

AND RANDOMLY, I propose "Under Pressure" by Queen/David Bowie as their team's kick warning song.

"Yin and Yang given flesh. How ironic." Evan said musingly.

"They are. So what do you need from me?" Evan smiles amiable and sits on the lip of fountain. "Come, sit, and be glad we are in public."

ooc; Weather report says Rain only. Snow by Monday, maybe.

OH GOD THIS. YES YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES. FFFFFF, DAVID BOWIE AND QUEEN. *Glee*

Blanc takes a seat himself, debating whether to go ahead and ask the big questions. They're both forgers, there's no point in insulting the other man's intelligence.

"I suppose there's no further point in pretending I don't need anything from you. What I need is your help and assistance if you would be willing to give it. It involves your point man. Or I suppose point woman."

ooc; Hmm, all right. Hopefully the church and reception hall is warm.

YAAAAY. And for the longest time, I've had the image of Evan and Blanc (or Lucian) karaokeing to that song.

"Yes, let's not pretend." Evan's voice is light on irony. At Blancs request though Evan goes still and stares at BLanc with an utterly unreadable expression. Behind Blanc three people turn and look at them. Evan relaxes himself and their attention turns away.

"Are you working for Talon?" He asks, as blunt as a baseball bat to the head.

ooc; Bring a sweater. :/ Weathers a bit chancy up here. But YAAAAY SNOW. I saw no snow at all last year.

OH GOD AWESOME. KARAOKE AWESOME. *SO FULL OF GLEE*

Blanc tenses when he feels the sensation of being watched and one hand casually drops into his pocket, feeling the cold metal of his totem. But with Evan watching him, there's no way to check things.

"To the point. I like that. Yes and no. I do not work for Talon, but I am affiliated with the team hired by Talon to perform an extraction Ms. Ginia Solana."

There's a strangeness in saying his sister's name, especially without any hints of care or connection. But he remains calm and composed as he watches Evan, taking his hand, sans totem, out of his pocket and setting them back on his lap to show he's not holding a weapon.

ooc; Yeah, I have a wool coat I'm bringing up with me. But my dress is sleeveless so I'll probably freeze a bit. :| Ditto down here.

IT WOULD BE AWESOME. But... really, as a kick song, it'd be perfect.

Evan grins slightly at Blanc comment about to the point. Evan had learned how to be completely to the point form Lucian, thank you very much. ...And all those Mercs he hung out with.

"Affiliated huh? But not reporting." Evan gives Blanc a long, slow, soul searching look, also picked up from Lucian.

"Fine, We can talk." Evan suddenly gives a strange little smile. "I just have one question for you." He moves his left arm into his lap, the movements fluid. "How did we get here?"

ooc; How was the wedding?

Evan's going all MOVIEQUOTES on Blanc. Evan is showing his 'hand' early. LOLPUN.

"I have interests on both teams so it would be to my benefit to assist with both teams. It's very complicated," Blanc admits as he meets Evan's intense gaze with a steady gaze of his own.

At Evan's question, any reply Blanc might have had dies on his tongue. He doesn't know. He remembers watching Evan, but beyond that, arriving at the location, setting up. it's all a blur. And as he takes a second look around at the buildings and the people and the fountain, Blanc realizes he has no idea where here even is.

As much as the realization terrifies him, he applauds the man for his actions.

"Well played, good sir. It seems I made the right decision in wishing to speak with you." His tone is calm and level for a man who just realized his fragile reality was fake, but he does glance cautiously at the projections.

"Life is complicated." Evan shrugs.

Evan smiles a wan little smile. "Be very glad It was me. And I was alone too. Otherwise this would be the real world and there would be acid, thumbscrews, and a very unhappy little Asian woman who is a mean hand with a hot poker."

He notices the look at the projections and give a fractionally warmer smile. "Don't worry. They are well trained, and I am not particularly creative building wise. But let's move this conversation somewhere more comfortable. As much as I like this fountain, it's a bit too open. Do you mind?"

Blanc gives a wan smile, not sure whether he needs to be reassured or disturbed. Both, perhaps. But he remains amiable and nods slowly. "It'd be such a pity too. I'm too handsome to be marred anyway."

At the suggestion to move on, Blanc nods in agreement. What choice does he have to agree anyway? "Somewhere private sounds like a good idea provided there isn't an iron maiden waiting for me somewhere."

"True that." Evan's smiles turns a hint mischievous, but there is a coolness in his eyes which means he is just teasing to ease the way of things.

Evan chuckles slightly. "I actually don't approve of torture. I understand it's needed sometimes, but I wouldn't do it." He stands. "And it's a nice apartment."

And it is a nice apartment. All decorated in soft grays and whites with hints of amber-gold in a modern-classic design scheme. The living room had a beautiful view over the city.

"Please, have a seat." Evan motioned to the soft gray suede couch. "Drink?"

A nice apart-- Blanc starts as he looks around, realizing they are indeed an apartment. As his mind questions the fact they were just at a fountain, another part of his mind quietly responds they were in an apartment the entire time.

Such are the power of dreams. Blanc chuckles nervously as he looks around, suddenly realizing he's woefully unprepared. But he's honest and his intentions are pure enough and he takes the seat.

"Just water, if you don't mind?" he responds, still looking around and expecting something else. "Though I can see why you're employed with my-- Ms. Solana."
