i came in from the west with the sun in my eyes
this morning i woke up in my car at 6:46am after having slept at the rest stop near van horn, tx. i pulled in at about quarter after one after having started out from LA at 9am (7am California time). i was tempted to push through and drive much further, but my fully grounded fear of hitting a deer (see big bend excursion 2007) got the better of me and i pulled over after 14ish hours of solo driving, which included time in 4 states, one indian reservation a postcard drop and oil change and the Queen Creek tunnel. i continued on this morning and flew onto summer creek around 1:30pm, wrapping up nearly 28 hours in the camry. i now understand john mccain ever so slightly more. atrophy is official.

so the trip is over. last year is this year. i will try and get some more info on the goings on of specific parts of the trip up over the next few days. there are already photos in the facebook if you're into that sort of thing. but mikey tired and has back-to-back 12 hour days coming up. ho yeah. time to try and sleep like he's never slept before. the dogs are barking and what's done is done
