That's so sweet! What's her name? Is she nice? When did you meet her?

[She's never been on a date of her own before, so she can only get excited over other peoples' dates.]

How cute. Oh, yes! You were wondering about things to do on a date, right?

[ Aw... well I'm sure Kohaku would love to spend some time with her, too! ]

Uh-- [ Yeah, he's nodding. ]

Well, usually you'd take her out to eat or to the movies or something, but I guess that would kind of be difficult here....

[This is going to need a little more thought than normal. Why didn't any of her romance novels take place in post-apocalyptic worlds?]

If you have enough food, you could cook a meal for the both of you. You'd have to make sure it's private so that you two can be alone, and you can even make it a candle-lit dinner if you have some candles with you.

Other than that, you can always go for a walk with her. Talk about different things, and eventually you can try holding her hand.

[ Okay yeah, he's getting most of this. ]

A lot of people have said being alone. So it's quality time, right?

[ But wait-- ] Hold her hand-!?

Exactly! It's not really a date if there are other people with you. Unless it's another couple, in which case it can be considered a double date.

[She nods.] Uh huh. A lot of girls like it when you hold their hands. It's a sweet gesture, so people who like each other hold hands all the time.

So there is more than one form of dating? Ah, I didn't think it would be this complicated.

[ Hrm. THINKING ABOUT THIS... ] Well okay. I guess I could hold her hand, then.

It can get very complex, but I'm sure it's not so bad once you get used to it. You'll probably be going on lots of dates after this one.

[Assuming he doesn't fudge it up, but even if he does, who would say no to dating such an adorable boy?]

If you're worried about her reaction, you can always ask her beforehand if she wants to hold hands.
