If anyone is at least minutely interested in Hurricane Katrina developments, particularly what's happening in New Orleans, I strongly suggest you follow this livejournal: http://www.livejournal.com/users/interdictor/

It's been featured on CNN the past few days. It's from a guy who works for a web server company in the CBD of N.O. who, along with several of his coworkers, has barricaded himself in a downtown highrise. He has a camera pointed at the street and a website with photos (the links are in the journal).

I'm a sucker for disaster coverage and I've been watching CNN and other channels all day long this week, but I have to say that this guy is giving the most bluntly honest coverage of what is happening in the city. The networks have been talking about looting - this guy has the REAL story, mainly that involving N.O.P.D.

The latest development has these people giving shelter to a police officer who is giving them direct info on what they've been going through in the city, and it is nothing like you're hearing on the networks. It is absolutely horrifying, and literally makes me want to vomit.
