remember when leaders made sacrafices?

today was beautiful.
easy meeting this morning, lunch & watching "the daily show" with jake.
also rifled through the mail that keeps coming to his apartment from the previous renters. opened a letter from Dorothy to Peyton because it was too tempting not to.
this incredible grandmother to granddaughter letter was so moving. she filled it with encouraging words to do well and quotes on happiness, including my new favorite mantra for life...

"happiness is having someone to love, something to hope for and something to do"

while i feel it is a sort of loaded, christian quote, i like it just the same.

then i just thrifted a bit at salvation army. i snagged myself a couple small, square mirrors that are the EXACT ones my mother has in our kitchen at home. it's a little homage to her- they are now on the wall that leads into MY kitchen.

last week, i replied to a bulletin Dave from Big D posted on myspace because it was about barack obama. i checked my messages today to find a reply in my in box. i love them.
