I saw The Wind, a silent movie starring Lillian Gish. It was one of those movies they ruined by changing the ending to appease audiences. Lillian's character was slowly going mad throughout the film. At the end, she kills a guy who tries to rape her. The original ending has her walking off into the desert to her death. Audiences didn't like that, so Hollywood gave them this totally contrived ending, where she inexplicably loves her husband, who she earlier despised, and looks forward to a bright future. Kind of like A.I. before Spielberg got his grubby mitts on it.
During the second show, a talkie which wasn't that great, but still had Lillian Gish in it, I started getting some texts on the iPhone app "Grindr", a gay hook-up application. He's very good looking, a deputy sheriff, and, of course, partnered for ten years. So, yeah.
I'm completely restless all weekend. I want to do stuff, but most of my friends are at Coachella, MIA, or agoraphobic. So there I am, up until 5 or 6AM watching "Law & Order" reruns. I think that there's a channel that shows nothing but L&O 24/7.
