2008 Reading List So Far

Mar 15, 2008 23:01

I have been terribly negligent in keeping this updated. Here's the list of books I have read/listened to (in the case of audiobooks) so far this year:

1. The Frasier Scripts (1999) -- great collection of screenplays from one of my favorite shows.
2. Betty and Veronica: Bad Boy Trouble (2007) by Melaine J. Morgan -- neat new twist on Archie's girls.
3. First Meetings in the Enderverse (2003) by Orson Scott Card -- good collection of short stories, three of which I hadn't read before.
4. Darkly Dreaming Dexter (2004) by Jeff Lindsay -- Dark indeed. This book made me uncomfortable during every minute I loved reading it, which was most of them.
5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus Volume One (2007) -- Collection of all the pre-Sunnydale Buffy comics.
6. True Confessions of a Fanboy (2007) by James and Johnny Jacobs -- Cute examination of geek lifestyles, but the writing is a little sloppy.
7. Buffy: The Long Road Home (2007) by Joss Whedon -- first book in "Season Eight." Loved it.
8. Shadow of the Giant (2005) by Orson Scott Card -- last book in the Enderverse so far, but Card has left it wide open for another series.
8. Amelia Rules!: The Whole World's Crazy (2006) by Jimmy Gownley -- THE BEST comic for all ages on the market.
9. Rumors (1988) by Neil Simon -- hysterical play. And I'm not just saying that because I'll be in it at the end of April.
10. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus Volume Two (2007) -- Collects all the Buffy comics through season two.
11. Playing For Keeps (2008) by Mur Lafferty -- Excellent superhero podiobook. If you liked my own novel, Other People's Heroes, go to Podiobooks.com and check this one out.
12. Ender's Game (1985) by Orson Scott Card -- One of my all-time favorite novels. I just felt like reading it again.
13. Duma Key (2008) by Stephen King -- Dark, haunting, excellent novel.
14. Burnout (2008) by Rebecca Donner -- sneak preview of an upcoming DC/Minx graphic novel. Good for its intended audience.
15. Dave Barry's Complete Guide to Guys (1992) by Dave Barry -- another all-time favorite I tasted again.
