Before I begin, friends, I've got a quick announcement about Think About It. I announced a while back that the column would be switching from Fridays to Saturdays and, obviously, that hasn't happened. I thought I'd be able to maintain that schedule, but the honest-to-God truth is... I've been writing Think About It since my third year of college. That's eleven years. And While I still love doing it and still love hearing from those of you reading it, it's not as easy as it used to be. I don't want to keep running over the same jokes or same comments, and I feel that's been happening. But I don't want to get rid of it, either, because it's really to big a part of me. So here's the deal, in a nutshell: Think About It will no longer adhere to any regular schedule. I'll post a new column whenever something happens to inspire a new column -- personal events, world events, media events, and of course, any time I feel the need to make fun of Oprah Winfrey.
Think About It Central meanwhile, the website, will continue to host the column when it appears, as well as serve as a place to announce any other projects I'm working on, including my regular columns, reviews and podcasts, as well as an awful lot of new stuff I've got in the works that I don't quite want to reveal yet. I seem to have hit a creative upswing, friends, I've got more new ideas percolating and waiting to be acted on than I have in a very long time, and instead of feeling guilty for not having a Think About It, I want to feel good because I'm working on those ideas. I hope you all understand.
That said, I do have a new Think About It column to share with you today. And it begins... now.
