Sorry the posting has been so sporadic lately, guys, especially at
Think About It Central, but there's just been a ton of stuff going on. The good news is, I've got one more thing taken care of. Today was the meeting about renewing my TAT (Temporary Authority to Teach) certificate for next year as I work towards certification. The back problem from last fall really screwed me up -- I'm running behind -- but I'm not so far behind I can't catch up. It's just time to buckle down, that's all. But for now, at least, it isn't anything to lose sleep over.
Saturday was Free Comic Book Day, and it was fantastic. Chase, unfortunately, couldn't make it, so Mike Bellamy sat in as guest host for a special location episode of
2 in 1 Showcase at
BSI Comics in Metairie. I tell you, friends, it was so much fun. There's just something about doing the show with customers all around, interacting, joining in... if we could have a FCBD crowd every day, I'd want to record every episode there. If you haven't already done so, click on the link above and download the episode -- it's wonderful.
I think I've finally found a project that my students will enjoy: rewriting a scene from Romeo and Juliet in a modern dialect and performing it for the class. Of course, the fact that there are two test grades involved -- one for the script and one for the performance -- and that it may just keep some of them from failing probably doesn't hurt at all.
Finally, today I got home to something that put an absolutely enormous smile on my face: a box. when I went to Pittsburgh a few months ago, Erin and I happened across a
Thing T-Shirt that I really liked, but alas, they didn't have it in my size. Erin, sweetheart that she is, vowed to keep looking for it for me. She still hasn't been able to locate it, but instead, I got a box with a Flash t-shirt, a Justice League tee, and a Marvel Universe tee, with a note saying I now have my wardrobe for the Philly con in June. I'm the luckiest geek in the world.
