In yet another example of exactly how abysmal I am at keeping schedules straight, tonight it was brought to my attention that I've only got a week left until the auditions for the Thibodaux Playhouse's summer musical, Lucky Stiff. This wouldn't be quite so big a deal if not for the teeny, minor detail that I happen to be the director of said production, and I've got a thousand and one things to do. I need to get myself a producer, a vocal director and an orchetra director, plus a pianist for the audition night. Then there's the whole question of actually putting together a CAST.
On the plus side, I got my first choice for assistant director -- my sister Heather. She's been wanting to get more involved in the theatre, and I know she'll be great at this. Plus -- and I'll deny it if you tell her I said this -- it's always more fun doing a play with her involved.
So, if you're in the mood to give your summer up to the fleeting glory of a role in the Thibodaux Playhouse's annual musical, we'd love to have you! Auditions are going to be next Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Playhouse's temple/rehearsal building in Thibodaux. We'd love to have you.
