Short description/summary of the book: from Amazon

As anticipation of the final Harry Potter book intensifies, a debate is raging among fans about what’s in store for Harry and the rest of the gang at Hogwart's. In this book, the experts at MuggleNet.com present a wide range of hard facts and bold predictions about the most popular storylines, favorite characters, and final outcome of the Harry Potter saga. Drawing on their intimate knowledge of the previous six books, as well as tips and suggestions made by millions of MuggleNet.com fans (not to mention a personal interview with J.K. Rowling), the authors offer answers to the burning questions of Harry Potter readers everywhere: Will Hogwart's School be open for Harry’s final year and will Harry even be in attendance? Will Harry’s quest for the remaining Horcruxes be rewarded? Where do Severus Snape’s true loyalties lie? And, most importantly, will Harry survive the final battle with Lord Voldemort?
My Thoughts: There were two primary reasons I bought this book: first, I'm a fan of the Mugglecast podcast. Second, I needed something that I thought would be a quick read for a plane ride. I was right -- this is a light book, something that will provoke a few thoughts among Harry Potter fans without shattering anyone's perceptions.

The book is written by hosts of the Mugglecast show and editors at Mugglenet.com, and as would be expected, the book consists mostly of speculation about the final book in the Harry Potter series, and much of it is stuff that can be found online. Not to say that there's anything wrong with that -- the authors of the book managed to compile several years' worth of speculation into a quick, easy read, which chapters devoted on everything from Dumbledore's fate, Snape's true allegiance, Neville's destiny and where Voldemort's horcruxes may ultimately be found. In cases where there are two clearly drawn lines, they make the arguments for both camps (is Dumbledore alive or dead? for example) before presenting their conclusion. Some of the items in the book -- speculation on the title and release date in particular -- have been made obsolete due to announcements that have been made since the book was released. This is no fault of the authors, of course, but it does point out the one fundamental flaw in this book -- as soon as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is released, it will become instantly out of date. So if you're a Harry Potter fan interested in reading speculation, this is about as good a book as you'll find -- but read it now before it's too late.
