Christmas Eve was wonderful, friends. I gathered with my family -- my parents, brother and his wife, sister and her husband. My sibs and their spouses and I all exchanged gifts -- a longstanding Christmas Eve tradition in my family, and I walked away with the first two seasons of the George Reeves Adventures of Superman on DVD, along with a nifty handheld Space Invaders game that is actually far more high tech than the Atari I played as a kid.
Then we went to my Aunt Mona's house for her annual Christmas Eve gumbo. I tried my hand at baking again, and my Candy Cane Pie (the recipe courtesy of Jeff Guinn's
How Mrs. Claus Saved Christmas) was a big hit. I'll have photos tomorrow.
And then, just to make my Christmas Eve complete, I came home to see that the immortal Fred Hembeck had linked to my Comixtreme column, "
Is Santa Claus a Superhero," in
HIS Christmas Eve blog. How cool is THAT?
Is it any wonder this is my favorite night of the year?
