FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2006

May 03, 2006 17:45

This Saturday, friends, is Free Comic Book Day 2006, the holiday we comic geeks have enjoyed since 2002 as a way to hang out with other fans and get a little free swag. And that’s all well and good - it’s nice that we can enjoy it. But we can’t forget that FCBD isn’t really about us. It’s fine that we go and fine that we have fun, but the importance of the event is the avenue it opens for new readers to come in or lapsed readers to return to the artform. That’s right, guys. It ain’t about you. It’s a day for you to recruit somebody else.

So if you're a comic fan, this week's Everything But Imaginary is about how we can work together to make it into a success: EBI #162: Free Comic Book Day 5 -- Help Make It Happen

If you're NOT a comic fan, or if you're trying to convince a non-fan to come with you, check out THIS column, a TAIC special: Come On Down -- Get Your Free Comics!
