verso onore il morto

Another holiday, another reminder of how thankful I am that only one term of my education at Hogwarts remains. There is nothing quite like the freedom to travel and do as one pleases, visiting famiglia in Siracusa, and Millicent in Salisbury, followed by an enjoyable evening in the company of many friends, old and new, at Signora Malfoy's ( Read more... )

I don't know that one ever forgets the first dead body you see. Moving away a bit of rock and seeing a hand sticking out under it, and that moment when your stomach feels like it's dropping right out because you don't know who it's going to be when you move a bit more, and you don't want to touch it, and then you realise, really and truly, that it's not going away just because you don't want to look at it.

I can't imagine ever forgetting that.

But what to do with it, after? That's a different question.

I think people do dumb stuff all the time.
I just don't know any of those people... but I do know you.

Do you? I can't tell if I know myself anymore or not.

So. Do you hate me too, now? It's all right, you know, if you do.

Nobody hates you. It's not as simple as all that, is it?

I wasn't asking about everyone. Just you. It would probably be safer for you, if you did.

Nothing is simple.

You weren't talking about just me when you said "too".

Half of bloody Gryffindor will probably never speak to me again. Im not a prefect anymore and they took a HUNDRED points. I'd have lost us the cup if Harry hadn't done it already fighting with Draco. People are sore about what I did...

I guess all I'm saying is if everybody's sore at you... you probably acted like a dolt.

I might have been. I might have meant do you hate me as well as other people, meaning, do you hate other people too? Or I might not have. We'll never know, now.

They gave back twenty, didn't they? I was thinking about that. Because you did something, but not realising why it was bad, and you tried to fix it after. And that--well, now that some things have happened, there are going to be a lot more people hurt than fell in a falling tower. But only one person, in all of this, is going to keep falling, and it's the person who tried to fix things, even if he went about it all wrong.

I think they should be sore. They should stay far away, where it's safe, and so should you. I'm selfish and jealous and bitter, and say things I don't mean, and make things all about me when they're not. And I kissed you once, which means you're probably going to die, so you should hate me. You should.

My head hurts. It'll probably hurt more tomorrow. Good night, Colin.

Stop telling me and everybody what we should do like we're a bunch of berks who cant understand anything.

He acted like a right arse, Ginny. The whole wizarding world is upset. Nobody knows what to do. Do you think you're alone or something? Lighten the sod up or you're never going to get another Creevey kiss.
