Zabini. Over here.

I'd like to talk to you, if you don't mind.

Hello Nott. What is on your mind? Or would it be better if I were to guess?

I admit I'm curious. What's your guess?

Recent shifts in rules and regulations. I don't think I need to be overt, do I?

Well, yes. I do have a new position.

I don't mind being overt. I'll figure out how to keep informed, because I think I have the best chance while still in school. I wouldn't want the conversations I've started to lead to nothing because I had to be away.

What you 'start' can only lead to whatever goals you place at the end of the path. Our goals may differ, but it seems as if our paths will be similar.

Indeed, that's what it seems. Now I wonder, Zabini, why did you choose this path?

And how do you keep informed, yourself? Just owls?

Perhaps it was the path that chose me.

Or so it seems, at times. But make no mistake: I take full responsibility for my choices. They were the best choices for me and mine, and that is all anyone need know. What about yourself, Nott?

I have a number of connections, the most important one being my Uncle.

I can relate to that.

I suppose you wonder because of the way my own path found me. Namely, that unfortunate interview with Rodolphus Lestrange for History of Magic. I read it again after getting back from the Malfoys's Christmas party, and I don't recognise myself in it anymore. I hadn't thought of not taking responsability for my choices, and before you ask, yes, I do know what I'm doing.

I imagine that your family connections make things easier. For the moment, I really only have my father, who can't inform me properly due to his circumstances. I hope this changes.

You do seem to have experienced a change in perspective since that interview with Lestrange; I have not failed to notice this. I only hope that your perspective is not always so quick to change. Decisions such as these cannot be made lightly, or on a whim.

Easier, to a degree, but I still must use care and discretion in all that I do.

I have no reason to change my mind, I can assure you of that. I finally have a way to feasibly achieve my goals.

I wasn't raised to take this path as the first choice, but I was never discouraged to choose it, either.

And I have no doubt that you do. I'll take a page from your book.

If you are certain and set on the decision you have made, then I will let you what I know, which may not be as much as what you are looking for. But it is what I can offer at this time.

I am certain, because while I do have an immediate goal to realise, there are more.

I would like to know anything that might be helpful. Right now, I'm trying to find my place and everything counts, as little as it might seem.

Very well then. This will best be discussed in person.
