Prejudice

I like to think I am relatively free from prejudice. I hate when I discover that im not. I just had a conference call with some customers in India. Their culture is not thesame as mine. They seem to me to be rude and demanding. I have trouble with the accent so I have to keep saying that I don't understand, which makes me feel stupid. I wish I ( Read more... )

There is a fierce, unrelenting logic that drives most conversations I've had with peoples from that sub-continent. I've had people from India and Pakistan and Bangladesh who are dear friends, some I can't stand, and some are valued colleagues. Sit down and watch The Jewel in the Crown. It will help you with the language. As to the other part, they are just like highly driven New York City businessmen. It's the same attitude, just a different accent. Aggressive, ruthless, and frighteningly successful.
