Even though MSL is gone from the online world his presence on the 'net can still be felt, via the puppets he controls from his giant chair a la The Claw from Inspector Gadget.
You know that he has his hand firmly up David Tuthill's ass, or at least there's been digital penetration of his anus.
Oh What A Time To Be A Wrestling Fan In This State
I don't mean to sound like "an abyss of negativity" here, but some stuff as of late from both WWE and a few people on the local scene have made me less than excited to be a fan of professional wrestling at this moment. Don't worry, I still am one, as there is a surplus of matches I have on DVD, whether via stuff I bought or burned onto blank discs, stuff I still have on the computer, or some streaming video of bouts. I still enjoy going to live shows. It's just that there is some stuff that is unfortunate.
Of course, with WWE there's all the repercussions of what happened with Benoit, and the recent suspensions of all those wrestlers, which was only done because of the upcoming Congressional hearing… since around 2001 there's been many things that they have done which have turned me off from them, and I turned from a diehard WWF fan into someone who only watched it occasionally to someone that has hardly watched it at all the past two years. It's just awful seeing how the company is run and how all those guys are destroying their own bodies with those chemicals, mainly in order to deal with the rigors of pro wrestling and to earn a job/maintain a job with that company. If you feel differently, that's fine, but I'm just totally turned off of their entire product and especially how they do business. Hell, I'm not even sure now if I WANT to attend this upcoming April's Wrestlemania show in the Citrus Bowl.
Then, there
is the continuation of the situation involving Chasyn Rance, his sister, and Kolby Stern (the discussion starts with Will Rivera's take on the event; you don't need to read the preceding two pages), which was only a part of all the chaos at last week's M3W show, which I will discuss in sections.
Whether or not you think the situation is a work, shoot, or work-shoot doesn't really matter (although the announcement that at the SCW show in Auburndale in a few weeks, Chasyn, MSL, and Larry Z. will compete in a six man tag versus Kolby Stern, Chris Jones-whose connection is that he's one of Will Rivera's favorite wrestlers-and Fantastic Dantastic-who of course wrote a vicious attack against Team Vision in a WG board thread, which I won't even link to as it's a work, just like this feud is, a giant f'ing work that shouldn't fool anyone with at least some common sense-makes this obvious as to what the feud really is, which will not be a draw for SCW or any other fed), but to me the situation is stupid as it leads to shit like this… in other words, people legit getting upset and for not much of a payoff; honestly, how does stuff that may or may not be "work-shoot" or stuff that is totally shoot and exploited online in either manner has been proven to not be worth the trouble in this state, at least. Just look at the attendance at that M3W show or the non-reaction when Chasyn made his attack on Kolby. Or, look at the total of 74 people who showed up at the YAPRO Cup due to all the online marketing that was done for it. Oh there are other examples but trying to work people online in order to get smart marks to attend a certain event… it just doesn't work.
That's why I laugh when MSL claims that "Team Vision brings a huge increase in attendance". Oh yeah, they did a great job of bringing, what, 5 more people to that M3W show-I'd like to see some actual PROOF of Team Vision being just a Florida indy show draw.
As for the other two events listed in the aforementioned linked thread (ATM's actions and Larry The Wrestling Ring Guy), I will mention my thoughts on that stuff too. As for ATM, real name Andrew, he is someone who I've mentioned before as he's been on MSL and FIP Radio, along with rare appearances on the old MSL board, where whether on the air or on the board, he was brutally unfunny. I mean, wanting to start a wrestling event called "Destle Dania"… along with many other blatherings, I wondered if this former rehab attendee was still on drugs! I at least assumed his vice was drugs-and maybe that is one of his vices-but his problem last Tuesday was being a dirty drunk. I mean, he was plowed long before the show started… getting too close and being a drunken moron to Joey Machete is one thing, but doing it with Amy Vitale when she's trying to valet and manage during a match is something else entirely. He got too close, which he shouldn't have done, and he paid the consequences for it. He *deserved* to have a separated shoulder, if you ask me. The fact that Machete did this to someone he probably did not even realize was one of MSL's lackeys… even better.
That said, I do feel bad for his family and friends that he has those obvious problems with drugs and/or alcohol and you hope that someone will be able to help him get the help he needs; if nothing else, it might stop any future terrible messageboard posts from him!
As for what happened after the show with Larry The Wrestling Ring Guy… who knows why he acted like he did. Now, if he only would've shoved David Tuthill or another one of MSL's buddies, then you'd wonder if he acted like that because he read some of those net trolls' bullshit, such as Tuthill's "Fuck The Marines" bullshit from early May, or the other garbage they've written that they try to say "Oh we're just joking!" or "It's just the Internet, dude" as a way to distance themselves from their macho online personas once legit heat arises… I can't say that I'd blame him for physically attacking those trolls if he got legit upset with their bating aggravating bullshit. For all I know, he could have been in the military and gotten upset with Tuthill's anti-military drivel, which he still hasn't apologized for, as his nuts are the size of raisins. Hell, Larry can punch those guys repeatedly in the face and I'd have little sympathy for them; punch them once in the face for me!
BUT, I can't say that I have any respect for Larry The Wrestling Ring Guy, given his racist attitude and how he had physical contact with Indy, the fiancé of the late Pat "Pato" Gottsegen. Indy rarely visited the MSL forums and did nothing on there to earn anyone's scorn. I never really talked to her but she seems like a nice young lady, so she did not deserve that kind of treatment.
As for WG, Josh Rich, and the way that they run the board and make it into a joke that embarrasses the entire scene, look at
this thread, where Da Fuhrer WG says that he's going to BAN THAT PERSON IF HE DOESN'T ACCEPT THE OFFER PRESENTED BY HIS FRIEND.* After reading that, all I have to say is, "Fuck you, Mike WG." What a disgrace that board is and how it makes Florida independent wrestling look like a major joke.
This thread best says how I feel about WG.
* The thing is, the guy who's selling the ring should have been banned if he *had* to be banned for something due to
this brilliant thread, where he threatened Ralph Mosca, Steve Keirn, and Steve Madison due to the ending of ACW… more on that in a moment.
Boy was I ever mistaken to think that Mister Saint Laurent's influence in the online world and/or the Florida independent world would dissipate due to his new job, where you'd think that he'd try to act just a LITTLE more mature and not be such a prick… I mean, when the job requires you to give up your crappy little messageboard and a podcast gig, you'd think it'd be the type of job where you should stop acting like a 2 year old that just crapped his diaper. But, that's obviously not the case. Like I said, he's still a puppetmaster and his puppets do everything he commands them to do. You know that he has his hand firmly up David Tuthill's ass, or at least there's been digital penetration of his anus.
Speaking of ACW...
Yes, from reading that thread, you can see that recently, Ralph Mosca closed down his ACW fed in order to help out the WWE developmental territory known as FCW, which has gotten off to a very slow start. I don't know how exactly ACW ended, and apparently it's acrimonious, but no one should fault Mosca for accepting an offer to work for WWE. It's crappy that some wrestlers lost a weekly opportunity to work, but with news that AWF may be starting back up soon, it is possible that another fed or two will arise to take ACW's place that will somewhat alleviate ACW's loss.
Some Random Comments
There are some things I forgot to mention about the FCPW show last weekend.
Remember the little girl who gave me the candy? That tyke was awesome; aside from the free candy, when one of the wrestlers came out to his theme music (which was Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls"), she started to bob along to the music! That's right, to a Metallica song; awesome!
There were other little moments that I neglected to mention, such as when during the main event, Neil Faith had hand sanitizer put on his hands due to "being in Bushnell"; like I tried to stress as strongly as possible, the shit shows I've gone to this year have been better and more entertaining to watch overall.
I haven't seen the new Halloween movie yet, but I can already say "Love Hurts" about it. I DID download the "workprint version" of it; you see, a few days before last Friday, a different version of Halloween was released online that was actually different in many ways to the theatrical version was put out by someone, and according to some the "workprint version" is better than the other. Maybe I'll see it in the theatre and watch the workprint at the same time and compare the two. I am happy that the complaints concerning the usage of the song in the flick has to do with how it was used, rather than the song itself. Nobody better talk shit about it, because "Love Hurts" rules!
I may be at one of the FCW shows this month, but at least you know that I'll be at the FIP cards, so it may be a quiet rest of the month on here until then, although feel free to check it every week or so to see if I put anything new up.
