A Meandering Post With Pictures

Here's what it looked like from my back porch, Saturday morning.

I know, I know, I keep taking pictures of the same trees, at about the same time of day. But it's so pretty! Very fortunate am I, that I have that view out the kitchen window every morning while making coffee. Besides, if I keep this up, I'll have enough photos to do my own themed calendar.

I got some words in yesterday, and will get a few more in today, split between Sand and Crossroads. I really, really need to focus on the wellness books, and the outline of another non-fiction book burst from the mind fully formed yesterday. This makes me look longingly at Christmas break, when my naturally productive writing hours--which happily correspond with hours Dev wants to go do his own thing--can be spent actually writing. And other hours can be spent at fun places like the Indianapolis Museum of Art (and that counts as school for Dev, too!), the Slippery Noodle (where I'm hoping to arrange a tour of the building), and going on my first geocaching adventure with a friend (an excursion that counts as research).

Dev and I will be on our own for Christmas day, so we're weighing some different options. We don't want to sit at home all day. We don't want to spend it with someone else's family, either, regardless of how much we love our friends. (It would feel different if it were a gathering of friends, I think.) We've talked about visiting the long-term care center my friend manages, or the VA hospital, or taking the holiday shift at the animal shelter. Dunno. We'll decide by next week.

Lastly, I braved the cold this morn to creat this picture for my nephews. Because fun matters. :)
