Presales for Black Circus are out... and disturbingly shiny...
Off to the Space yet again this evening to meet with Suzanne, who's handling the promo side of things, and to sort out what I might be wearing for Charmayne. I also have a good mental image of the skirt I want to make for Lou, getting a zip tonight so I hope to have a go at sewing that tomorrow after work.
Today's a day of rest, sewing-wise, because apparently when I unleash my inner daemon of frenetic sewing she forgets to blink, and that's what's been giving me the disturbing eye issues. So I've had a little relax this arvo, and had a good long shower, and I'm wearing the merino hoodie that Jennie was nice enough to chop the thumb-bits out of so now I can wear it as a regular top, yay! just in time for Autumn to really bite, too.
House news is patchy. Looks like we'd have to pretty much replace the entire roof not long after moving in, which is a downer on two counts - firstly, it places yet more strain on our already creaking finances, and secondly, much as I enjoy home improvement, replacing the roof within a year of moving into a house doesn't sound at all fun. I remember when Dad was working on number 92 and the huge fuss that turned out to be. So we shall see what happens in terms of the conditional agreement, and have yet to see what the Bank says, but if we are still facing this extra cost by the time we're due to go unconditional, we won't be buying the place. It's already been a shoddily timed and incredibly stressful process. Which, amazingly, I am taking pretty damn well. Manfully and stoically (okay except for the odd ranty patch) and even chirpily at times!
so... hmm... food needs to happen before the runthrough tonight. hurrah for, for once, being a model and not a designer (puts on model hat) teehee*
here's another thing I never thought I'd say iin the midst of frantic re-fittings; gosh I like sewing! Yes, my machine is ancient and cantankerous (I mean seriously, the foot keeps falling OFF in mid-stitch, we aren't just talking a few quirks here) and I'm getting blisters on my eyes, but I am learning so very much and I think that by the end of this - and yeah, I am thinking of a 'next time' - I will actually be able to make not just vaguely wearable things but actual, versatile, sellable garments.
