This week at work has SUCKED.
Starting with Monday. My usual monday goes like so: Go to office, pick up client's paperwork to be returned. Drive to various clients. This usually takes me until about 12:30 or sometimes 1pm... . I then have to prepare my sales for the next day. This usually takes me until at least 5p, if not later. 4:30 rolled around, and I still had about an hour and a half or more of work left to do. My boss had the damn nerve to suggest I take it home and finish it off the clock because she wanted to leave at five.
I kiiiiinda think that my refusal to do so set off the rest of the week...
On monday evening, she handed me my stack of deeds from the previous tuesday's sales and said that they were all set to go. After they'd been on her desk for several days to be notarized. All the post it tabs stating that the various deeds were missing a posting or a publication had been removed, so... I took her at her word that they were ready for recording.
Well, tuesday morning I delivered them to the ROD's office before the sale, and then got a crabby phone call stating that the ROD's office had called to let her know that a whole bunch of the deeds were missing various essential documents. Obnoxious as heck, but not a tragedy. They were only 7 days past sale and we have 20 days to record, so plenty of wiggle room. Of course, i also took back a big stack of deeds that she had missed at least one spot where she was supposed to notarize them.
The sale had taken so long, and then on the way home I was called unexpectedly by a client who needed a pickup, so I got back to the office later than I thought I would. I had planned to go take my Wayne co deeds to record, but there was no longer enough time.
Got back to the office, and she told me that since I'm responsible for the deeds, I should have double checked them. She also asked me why I was being so crabby lately. I'm being as uncrabby as I can be right now between her bullshit, my cat dying, not having time to go see my horse at all during the week because of mandatory overtime, the company taking some of our holidays away, the company cutting my mileage rate, losing most of my friends since I started this damn job.... I do a darn good job at NOT letting all this effect my performance- as evidenced by her last week being completely fucking THRILLED with me.
I bite my tongue and go on about my day. Our scanner goes on the fritz, and I lost about an hour worth of scanning that I did. I filled out the rest of my mandatory overtime day double checking the rest of my deeds that I was going to be taking to record wednesday. And requesting a posting affidavit that Anita had lost but was having a great time blaming it on me for a deed that needed to record no later than thursday in Macomb Co.
wednesday morning I did pickups until about 11:30, then went to wayne county to record deeds. After that I had to go up to Macomb county to record that one deed that had to record by the next day (but I would have been tied up all day with Wayne co sales on thursday so I had no choice but to record it then). While at macomb, I picked up THIRTEEN damn deeds that she'd not notarized correctly.
I then hauled ass back to the office to finish preparing the next day's sales. That took until about 6p.
Thursday I picked up at the clients, came back, reminded her that my deeds that were supposed to go to record on friday were still on her desk unnotarized, entered the bids for the Macomb co sales on friday, drafted an affidavit of correction, went to Wayne co for sales, went to the register of deeds to record the affidavit of correction, came back to the office, and then busted my butt finishing the preparation of my sales for friday. discovered that she STILL had not notarized my deeds. which means I'll have to make another trip up there next week. Another 6p night.
This morning I was at macomb sales and she keeps sending me emails. First the oakland ROD had a couple more deeds that were missing things. OK. we covered that on tuesady. I will doublecheck everything even though she's the boss and should know what the hell she's talking about/doing. And fussing about not having recording information for a file that was sitting RIGHT THERE ON MY DESK. I just hadn't had a second to enter any recording information due to the scanner being down frequently and other people in the office needing to scan things.
Then she emailed about needing recording info for these wayne co files.
And then needing recording information for these macomb files.
I'd left her a note letting her know that the previous day I didn't have enough money for the parking and recording so had to pay out of pocket, and also requested parking money for the meters at macomb county. She told Angie and yolanda that the company doesn't pay for that, that I was supposed to pay it. NOT what I was told when I was hired, and especially since they cut my mileage rate, I'm not paying for it out of my own pocket anymore. I pay enough out of pocket that I don't ask for reimbursement. (I'll frequently pay for small shortages in recording fees just so that I don't have to waste an hour or so of my day to make another trip. On wednesday, I forked over $9 between about 25 deeds just so I wouldn't have to make an extra trip. . I also work through about 3/5 of my unpaid lunch breaks.
Monday I am going to take my lunch break and get in contact with my HR representative.
