Hyper-sensitivity Grants Keen Intuition

At almost every step along the way here, I've been right -- except for that one time that I just got ahead of myself and was wrong... I was so excited though!

So anyone who has talked to me about this (basically just Heather and SJ) know that I had already said, "It was the kind of situation where Joe hated his job, but he wouldn't give up because he wasn't a quitter. So Sam and Pete kind of had to force him out." It was best that way, for all of them.

Well lookie here: I was fucking right. Who called it? "You called it!!"
(Sorry for boasting so damn much... It's just that, living with Layla I never seem to get anything right, so it's nice when I finally hit the nail on the head.) :)

Launch Radio Networks reports: CHEVELLE drummer Sam Loeffler called Launch from the road to set the record straight on why he and singer/guitarist Pete Loeffler parted ways with their brother, bassist Joe Loeffler, two weeks ago. "Joe didn't like to be in a touring band," Sam said. "It's not a secret to anyone in the industry or any fans that ever talked to him that he hated traveling. That was the biggest player in our decision. It was kind of a mutual decision, but it kind of wasn't, because he didn't want to do it, but he also didn't want to quit, and we were just kind of like, 'If you don't want to do it, you can't do it, because it's affecting us.'"

Sam Loeffler told Launch that the band knows the decision to part with Joe Loeffler has upset some of the trio's fans, but he hopes they'll be understanding. "Some people have written some pretty nasty stuff on the message board about us, and about what they think we've done, but nobody really knows because they weren't there," he said. "They got half the story or none of the story, for that matter. I guess we've kind of just asked people to bear with us, and hopefully things will work out in the end, we've just gotta give them time."

Sam Loeffler added that Joe Loeffler is not speaking with his brothers for now, but the band will not seek a permanent replacement at this point.

Former FILTER guitarist Geno Lenardo has assumed bass duties on CHEVELLE's current tour with TAPROOT and 30 SECONDS TO MARS. The tour hits Cleveland, Ohio tonight (Friday, July 15).
