Writer's Block: Full Moon Fever
Just ask 911 dispatchers and ER staff. They all say it's true. Currently I have a friend who entered into Wolf-mode with the waxing Moon; of course, getting dumped by your ex's new boytoy will do that to you. He's gone crazy with blood-lust this week and none of the other guys he runs with want to "spar" with him - they say "Nah man, you play too rough." Heh. All he wants to do is TEAR someone up or GET torn up himself. Bad times.
Can't say I've never been there, although for me it's the opposite: the New Moon makes me crazy manic wanting to scare/harm/fuck somebody violently. It's all lunacy! Or is it?
Folk legends and shamanic practices are full of humans trying to find their animal-spirit guide, or shifting into their wild-animal counterpart. But really, I think it's just that inner Feral Human trying to claw its way out.
