Retreat to.....
Holy Crap my head hurts. It's because I've been staring at this screen all day. First I tried logging onto Villains, but the servers were down. So I've been browsing the Internet as usual; streamed "Against All Odds" (MMMMMMM Jeff Bridges!) which was two hours; but mostly my head pains are because I've been working on the following...
BUHHHHHHHHHHH. This is my first attempt to paint anything in Photoshop - I've just begun on this piece. It would've been completely hopeless if not for a short and sweet introductory tutorial from Sandara. I have a very feeble knowledge of light and shading value since until now, I've just done linework. But, it IS all around us - I just have to look around to correct myself, don't I? :-\
I'm also thinking it's kind of pointless to go in and clean/solidify the lines in Illustrator, but that remains to be seen. I have a Silent Hill tribute pinup in queue; I did the lines in Photoshop, so we'll see how it goes trying to paint that directly.
Man, the hair in both versions sucks. I suck at drawing hair. Need MOAR references. And practice.
Tomorrow I think the goal - besides fixing the shades, highlights, and hair - will be to figure out how to do the outline and the other hard lines. I'm almost certain I want to do away with the black lines and just use the painted layers. Take a look at Sandara's gallery - I think that's what I want to shoot for.
Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go do some Wii Fit to get the blood flowing back to my ass. And then shower.
