HINT HINT

About a year ago, I came up with this concept for "Twisted Transistor" that I'd like to get illustrated. I forgot about it for a while, but for the past several days it has become an obsession. Last night was the first in a series of serious attempts to get it sketched out in Photoshop.

Sometimes I desperately want to forget about my Wacom and go back to my sketch-book and pencils because I feel like I have so much more control with them. But what stops me is the fact that this scanner has gone AWOL on me, and to draw something in pen and paper could ultimately be disadvantageous. Also, it's an expensive, professional piece of equipment and I better be doing all I can to get the hang of it as soon as possible. It's actually working out a bit faster than my first disappointed realization surmised. Still, I could be growing even FASTER if I was more disciplined and prolific.

As if the Universe or God was urging me towards this end, today there were blog entries from two pro artists I admire on my watch-list. Both revolved around the topic of "Sit down, shut up, and DO IT".

Please read:
The War on "Talent"
(I can't find the other one... >_<)

SO, as I had fully intended, I will sit down, shut up, and draw... After I've taken a nap. I'm no good half-awake.

P.S. For no particular reason other than wanting to look at something gorgeous and wild and inspirational, I did a Google image search of Brody Dalle. This bitch makes me wish I was a lesbian. I lucked out and found a professional illustration/caricature of her in a style close to what I want to do for "Twisted Transistor". Here's the link: Enjoy.
