A low hum came from the hub, a tiny pinging noise from a monitor indicating things were still running. The soft footsteps of Ianto Jones echoed around the vast underground base.
"It's late why don’t you get some sleep, It's been a long day" A masculine voice said.
Ianto leaned back placing a foot against the wall and his head slumped forward "Martin never told anyone about himself, did he? That’s why all this happened isn’t it?"
A man’s secrets had caused his own death. It was due to an alien of course, which is why Torchwood had been involved and had to clean up the mess. It had been a long and tiring day for everyone involved.
Jack tilted his head slightly towards the other man but didn’t look at him "Is there something you want to say?"
"Everything." The young Welshman whispered.
Jack put down the paperwork he had in his hand, he put his feet upon the desk and listened while Ianto talked, told him everything, he opened up and showed his true self to the immortal for the very first time. He didn’t know why when he finished he quietly walked out of the office and went to make coffee.
Jack stood up and walked over to him as the coffee dripped into the cup, his hand smoothed onto the back of his lover’s neck caressing it, Ianto turned and Jack kissed him. When he pulled away they looked into each other’s eyes.
"Lets go to bed, It's been a long day.” Jack said as he took hold of Ianto’s hand.
