deutschland made me fatter

we just got back from germany a few days ago. it was a long 14 days with many ups and downs, but, all in all, i liked it. it's always good to get out of this place and, yet, it's always good to come back. before the trip was over i was ready to come back. not necessarily here, especially not work but to the states. one of the main things i didn't like was not speaking the language. it was hard having to ask fancy's grandmother to translate everything people tried to tell us. a lot of people speak english there, but, then again, a lot of people don't. it got frustrating after a while. at least i picked up a few words and phrases, which made our hosts happy.

we were there for so long but we didn't really do much. there was more we wanted to do, but everyone had plans for us already...we didn't get to go to berlin, or take a train to paris, for example...

we stayed in small towns near stuttgart (where i went to a soccer game!!!!<~~one of the best things i experienced) for the first 9 or 10 days. from there we travelled to places like rothenburg (a christmas village), heidelberg, and munich (where we spent 2 nights), and back to our base (mogglingen and leinzel). we went to some castles (neuschwanstein- the cinderella castle, amongst them) in munich and heidleberg. it snowed for most of the first week we were there. snow, snow, snow, snow...then we went to bellheim to meet some of fancy's family (her grandmother's sister and brother). that was pretty boring, especially because we were tired by then. then we went back to frankfurt, and back home.

i'm supposed to be catching up with my work and studying and all, so i'll post pictures later and get into more details, maybe.

tschus!
