Koto Music of Japan - Zumi-Kai Original Instrumental Group

Jul 20, 2010 12:13

Found this for $4.99 in the mall a while back and finally bought it.  I had purchased another Japanese instrumental CD, but I didn't think it was worth posting.*  This album is more like the Chinese flute album I posted earlier, which made it more promising.  Like the Chinese flute album, it has the titles of the tracks in their original language.  I've used the Japanese titles as the file names and the Romaji given on the back cover of the album as the track titles on the tags.**  There were no attempts at translating the titles to English for this album, which may be for the best.  I couldn't find a picture of the album cover large enough to put here, but I did tag the tracks with a small picture of the cover.

Tracks 4 and 5 have some vocals.  If the titles had translations, track 4 would be "Plover" and track 5 would be "Spring's Music."

Tracks:

1. 六段 Rokudan
2. 乱れ Midare
3. 五段-キヌタ Godan - Kinuta
4. 千鳥 Chidori
5. 春の曲 Haru no Kyoku

*In case you were thinking of buying "Music of Japan," don't!  I guess the odd cover with random Japanese things should have been a warning.  There's no artist information on the thing, only a poorly written Engrish paragraph about the album, but the copyright is 1999 by Delta Entertainment Group.  There are 21 tracks, but the whole thing is poorly recorded and corny, if you can call traditional music "corny."

**I added another input system to type the titles myself.  I could type 3 of the titles with Chinese input, but I needed kana for the other two tracks.  I could type the title for track 5 even though it has "の" in it because it's on the of the characters that comes up if you type "zhi" with Sogou Pinyin Input, since it's the Japanese equivalent of "之."
