Concert and Sales Musings

This clip from Jay Chou's Sydney Concert is over 92 minutes long.  It's crazy that you can watch this much of a concert over the Internet, but watching the whole thing will probably make you seasick.  You can tell that the person filming this was very excited because the camera isn't exactly still.  There are some parts I'm interested in hearing, though.  Also, this is MandoPop.  Copyright laws aren't always a big factor.

I think one problem fans had was that Yuhao wasn't there.  There wasn't a piano battle, since Yuhao always does the piano battle with Jay.  Still, this was the first chance for a lot of fans to see Jay Chou, since he'd never had a concert in Australia before.  This is still a continuation of the World Tour that started in 2007.

I'm a bit jealous of the fans in Sydney.  I mean, this year alone both Mayday and Jay have held concerts there.

I also checked out this week's G-Music charts.  This is an official chart for music sales in Taiwan.  I noticed that this week, "麥可傑克森" is on the overall sales chart twice.  For those who don't know who he is, he recently died and the whole world went crazy over his death.  Yep, he's Michael Jackson.  For the Western album sales in Taiwan, he's on the chart for 4 different albums.  He must have been really popular in Taiwan.

Also on the chart, A-Mei or Amit's new album is #1 on it's first week out.  I haven't listened to all of it, but it's interesting.  It's rock and one of the tracks was written by Qingfeng.  A-Mei and rock definitely work together!  Not sure how everyone will react to it, though, especially considering some of the lyrics to the songs, which you can read (in Chinese) here.
