Ratio of the entire U.S. federal budget in 1957, adjusted for inflation, to the amount spent so far on the Iraq war: 1:1 Crazy, sobering numbers. Fingers crossed for future sanity!
Also: I think I am going to have a murder mystery birthday party, if I can get enough people. For I have found The Little Engine That Could Kill, which I shall avoid linking to for fear of spoilerage (although I'm sure one could google it), and which requires eight people for eight distinct parts. Ah, that I had found this before everyone went home! Maybe I'll have a ridiculously belated birthday party, assuming people still come back home for summers*.
I seem to recall Shannon running something similar a while back, does anyone remember if this is the same one? If it is, do people still remember significant (i.e. spoilerish) details?
Either way, you may begin dibsing the roles (all of which, I might add, need not necessarily be gender-specific), which include: The Businessman, The Conductor (it is on a train), The Doctor, The Lord, The Magician, The Peasant, The Tennis Star, and The Violinist. Each role comes with a pleasant little fifteen page novella, describing the events shortly before the nefarious murder, which would be electronically posted upon expression of interest.
*Edit:
shivi reminded me that people would likely be here in April for Krysta & Bryce's wedding, which would be fantastic, if Krysta doesn't mind me co-opting one tiny evening for my nefarious purposes? It would give plenty of theoretical time to read the little booklets, but also lots of time for me to forget about the thing entirely until the day before I get around to throwing it.
