Her first thought is "oh hell someone went overboard." Her second thought, as she runs closer, is "that guy looks familiar..."
It's Endrance. He's here and he's looking worse than normal. Fuck. She clears the remaining distance in record time and kneels down next to him, spraying a bit of sand everywhere. She places two fingers against the side of his neck to check for a pulse.
[He pulls himself up into a kneeling position, eyes closed and breathing hard. There's sand in his hair and on his face, but he hasn't really seemed to notice yet.]
...I did die, though. Skeith even gave me a heads-up on the night I went. [She looks up at the sky, not entirely able to bear this.] This - isn't the world of the dead though.
[So maybe it was just a fluke that he ended up here too. Right?]
[... No. He won't allow it. He might not be the Emperor of the Demon Palace anymore... but he can still fight like one. He draws himself up regally (despite this being hard to do when covered in sand and looking sick as all heck) and narrows his eyes.]
I swore to fight with you... to protect you. Where is the one who killed you?
Whoa - hey, you're not well, you know! [Going to get up and act as a support so that you don't fall over, buddy.]
As for who killed me - I wasn't killed by anyone. It was just the end result of destroying Cubia. Humans aren't meant to use that kind of power, it kills them from the inside out, that's what Skeith said. [Deep breath.] As for why I didn't just keel over immediately... I guess that was her way of saying "thanks for keeping the world from blowing up."
It was not your fault. It will never be your fault.
[The anger seems to melt away into sadness, and he closes his eyes again.]
... It stormed three nights ago. I could feel Macha tugging on my soul. She told me that things were going to change. I did believe her - your actions have altered the world forever. I did not think that she meant anything else by those words.
Your life was snuffed out too quickly, Haseo... like a flower picked before anyone has a chance to see it in full bloom.
Last night... the darkness was particularly deep. I could no longer hear the sounds of the city. I do not remember things clearly... I do remember that the moon seemed as if it were as hot as the sun in a desert area. I only wanted to sleep...
No, no, no, no, no no no no no you didn't please tell me you didn't] ...Damn it, Endrance. You - you didn't - you forgot to take care of yourself again, didn't you.
[There's no accusation or anything, just...sadness.]

... I waited for you outside of your guild. Some of your guild members attempted to dissuade me, but...

[And now that pieces are starting to click...]
What... does death feel like?

It kind of - depends, I guess? I mean, being destroyed by a power overload is pretty painful.
[Unspeakably so, in fact. No words, buddy.]
... at the end, though, it kind of - everything went quiet and dark. Kind of like going to sleep, but not really.
Why are you asking me this?
[No. No no no no no]
