Kickin' it Old School...

Got some DVDs of old animes I saw as a kid, so I'll share some details. I might go back and do this for a few others.

Voogie's Angel:
This is definitely one of the stranger series I've seen. It's only three episodes long, and the basic plot is aliens have invaded the planet and forced humans to take shelter deep beneath the ocean, which, obviously, is not the most conducive environment for us to survive in.

Thus, the main characters, 5 cybernetic girls called Angels, have been created to help the human race strike back and regain their planet.

The first episode is rather on the silly side. It introduces the plot premise and characters, but not much else is delved into.

The second episode starts out silly, but halfway through turns pretty dramatic, even somewhat brutal.

And the third episode?

Well, frankly, the third is my favorite. The series started out so typically magical-girl that I was caught completely off guard and then blown away when I saw just how dark the pasts of these girls were. It was chilling to watch. Especially at the age I was at then, which was, what, 10? 11? Something like that.

Yeah...

Overall, it's definitely a good series to waste a few hours on, if just for the end. Like most OVAS, it doesn't properly tell the story or wrap things up, but it's still fun while it lasts.

Outlanders:
I can't speak much for this series, you really need to just see it for yourself, but can I just say this about it?

When a hot alien babe is about to brutally murder you and you win her over by pinning her to a wall in your panic not to die and accidentally grind against her letting her know that even though she scares the shit out of you she's so sexy she makes you hard?

That is WIN.
