I know I've been absent and mostly silent for... hell, I don't even know for sure how long. I think the last thing I posted here might have been about how I was ready to continue a WIP.
Well, I did continue it (for those who know and/or care), but I haven't finished the latest chapter.
Instead, I've been mired in serving my country by working for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama, and then by keeping well-informed about what's going on since the election in Indiana. And by well-informed, I definitely mean reading various online news and blog sites, because the mainstream media? They don't report SHIT. Just ask
solo_from_uncle. He knows firsthand - now - about the media's attempt to distort current events, having attended an Obama rally on Sunday that drew approximately 75,000 people in Portland, OR, only to see the event barely mentioned on CNN. Instead, the focus was on Hillary Clinton's irrelevant Kentucky campaign. Interesting.
Anyway, should anyone have noticed my absence, don't fret. I haven't died or fallen apart - I've just begun to feel hope for the future for the first time in ages and have been working in service of that hope. I'm trying to get a grassroots Obama effort organized in my town (in the wake of the departure of the official Obama campaign staffers) in anticipation of the Democratic nomination. Right now, this real-life effort to effect positive change in my state and my country trumps everything else. I hope you'll all understand and support me in this.
