As tempting as an ice pick would be (and oh god, I know *just* how tempting it is), can I suggest you try a hot compress to your forehead and upper face instead? Basically, everything above your mouth, leaving your nose clear for breathing. It helped me immensely when I had the sinus infection that would not die. If you have a heating pad, try that because it stays warm.

Also, (are you in the U.S.?) mucinex (generic: guifenasen) helps loosen everything up.

Yeah, I had tried both the compresses and the guaifanesen today, and the pain persisted until the third dose of the decongestant. Thank God it's reduced now to manageable levels. I'm a veteran where sinus infections are concerned (as are you, from the sound of it), and usually these things help fairly quickly. Not today!

And now, it is time to take the next dose of Keflex and collapse for the night. With any luck, I'll awaken tomorrow in a more comfortable condition.

Thanks for your advice and concern. :)

Sorry about the sinus infection, Blade. I see on another thread that the eye socket won the poll...that usually works for me. ;)

Hope you feel better today. You're supposed to have a headache on New Year's day...not before.
