Film stuff....

Its back to some film ideas. I REALLY want to make "CATHEDRAL" this summer, but I lack the knowledge of special effects abilities, even though I recently got "Adobe After Effects' and I want to mess around with it. I thought long and hard about what to make, and I got the crazy idea to make a short trailer film for a supernatural movie.

I sort of want to try out a "Hunter: The Reckoning" sort of trailer that shows regular Human guys and girls killing some supernatural badguys. My first thought was "Well shit, I want to make this, but in order to do a modern day trailer for it, I need some realistic firearms and I dont have access to them." I was looking around online, and found this on ebay: http://search.ebay.com/airsoft_Spring_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfromZR3QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsacatZ62120

That URL link shows off some spring loader Airsoft guns. Airsoft guns are made to fully replicate real life firearms and even have removeable clips and accessories like flashlights and laser pointers. I went to the search area on that one and not only did I find out that some of them are fully automatic BB guns and also painball guns at the same time, but are also CHEAP as hell. When I say "Cheap as hell" I mean I can get some rifle sized replicas here for 20 bucks, even less, compared to a couple hundred dollars for blank firing guns from other sights. Thats AWESOME at best. So basically now I REALLY want to invest in some of them in order to make the HUNTER trailer with. Sadly enough, Im not made of money and I need ebough weapons to arm the actors I will have for the trailer. I want at least a team of 4-5 people for the Humans. We;re basically talking 5-10 guns then, depending on what I want for them to be armed with. This leads to a monye issue. So, as a favor to anyone interested in halping me, if you want to be involved with this tailer (After editing and adding effects Ill post it online for other people to view), please let me know what role you want to play in it and if you are a human hunter, which weapon(s) you want to use and then give me the money for them.

The next step for the trailer was to choose a location to film it at. I thought long and hard about this and couldnt come up with any place cool enough or creepy enough to use. I then remembered that there was that supposive haunted house nearby that everyone has been going to lately, and that it may actually be a VERY good place to film some night shots or some other images for the trailer at. It would look like a group od hunters are actually looking for something to fight. Another idea I had was to use a dark area of town at night, in an alleyway for instance, or inside an older house so that it looks rattier and creepier. Setting has yet to be decided, but ideas are most welcome.

The monster/creature for the trailer is another thing I was pondering about. Just what to hunters fight against in the RPG game? I thought Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies and Ghosts. Vampires are easy enough to do. All I had to do was get some fale vampire teeth, maybe some red or other colored contact lenses and some fake blood and I was set. Zombies are also easy as hell to do, but I would need more people to play them, as a single zombie is bullshit to look at, but a large group of them is different. Werewolves are out, I dont have the funds, and Ghosts are out of my league FX wise. We'll stick with Vampires and Zombies for this trailer then.

I want to get some people together and talk about this more. The good thing about making a trailer is that there doesnt neccessarily need to be a script, just some well depthed conversation between every short screened shot. We might even be able to do something with it this weekend, but we cant film any combat oriented or monster shots until I get some props over here.

Once gain, help is most welcome and appreciated if anyone wants to get involved with this project. It should actually be fun and would help involve me more in filming, which Im finding is becoming to grow as an interest with me more lately. Besides, we might as well do something else on the weekends besides sitting around and rolling dice the whole night...this way we can get some more people involved in some activities that everyone can enjoy. :)
