MUSIC - EVERYONE knows everything
I have come to the conclusion that people do not know jack shit about music, myself included. Sure, I don't like certain bands, but really who am I to say Band X sucks and Band Y is great. Example: Korn is crappy numetal and Iron Maiden is great Heavy Metal. Yet, I could also say Korn is great for taking away all the BS image, crappy lyrics and symplifying the music so that people can get into it. For them, it was ABOUT THE MUSIC AND NOT THE SOLOS. Iron Maiden, on the other hand use a cheesy image and are way too overproduced. They are basically a hair metal band who played wanker guitar solos to show off to dorky teenagers. As you can see, within certain circles its okay to like Maiden and not Korn yet in others its the opposite. It all boils down to who you're trying to impress. Bottomline, LISTEN TO WHATEVER YOU WANT. Jesus. I am sick of this dissention among music fans. If you like Korn or Limp Bizkit, listen to them. If you like Judas Priest or Iron Maiden, then go ahead and listen to them. You like the Clash or the Exploited or whatever, LISTEN TO IT. Don't worry about what others feel about your music. Chances are, they are just going with the flow and hating them because they are popular or not. You may like a popular band, but at least you are really like it and are not just saying so. For me I'll go listen to Nine Inch Nails followed by some Radiohead then some Kyuss and probobaly Sabbath. What about you? Hopefully, it's something you like.
