a soulful shade of blue

i'm really really really tired of the nails in my belly. it's REAL easy when you can blame this shyt on menstruation. but then it passes and someone is still ripping holes in my intestines.

i found two mix CDs from junior high in a moving box, and this is what i found,

CD 1:
about 17 homestarrunner audio clips and songs, including The Cheat's theme song and Trogdor
Non Homestar tracks:
Track 3-Dig It :: D-Tent Boys
Track 6-Papa Loves Mambo :: Perry Como
Track 10-Diamonds and Guns :: Transplants

CD 2
1- The Boys are Back in Town :: Thin Lizzy
2- Back in Black :: ACDC
3- TNT :: ACDC
4- Simpsons audio clip
5- Lose Yourself :: Eminem
6- that opera song from The Fifth Element
7- Good Charlotte :: Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous
8- Simpsons electronic DOH mix
9- Simpsons beer song
10- Homestarrunner song
11- The Homecoming Queen's Got A Gun :: Julie Brown
12- The KKK Took My Baby Away :: Marilyn Manson cover
13- Billie Jean :: Michael Jackson
14- Simpsons clip
15- Starmites :: from Starmites the Musical (i almost forgot that i was a musical dork)
16- Motivation :: Sum 41
17- Fat Lip :: Sum 41
18- Still Waiting :: Sum 41
19- Chop Suey :: System of a Down
20- Mickey :: Toni Basil
21- My Name is Jonas :: Weezer
22- Homestarrunner Everybody! slow version

almost none of these songs could be found in my current iTunes library. actually none at all except Weezer and Michael Jackson. how embarrassed should I be? well, i'm not really. there's some interesting stuff, like Perry Como and Julie Brown, not to mention the Fifth Element opera song, that was a great surprise. but overall, i'm happy with how painfully angsty and pop-culture-dictated my junior high years were. it shouldn't be any other way.

and the touch of retro-rock was encouraging : P
