God can I just say I've so been there. It's definitely difficult to reject a friend but it's far preferable to the alternative of stringing them along. (Not that I'm saying you did here of course as you weren't sure how you felt up to this point). If you have decided that in the end no it's not going to happen and you really don't see him that way then it really is the best way. I do hope he feels he can continue being friends. It is possible. One of my best friends is a straight male and I have several other male friends - some of which have like me in the past and vice versa. Of course it's easier when you're with someone else as they don't see you as available, but I think it can be done. On the flip side I have lost people too. I still really miss one of those I was particularly close to. To be fair to him he stuck around for a long time after I told him nothing was going to happen and never tried anything again. Then he left for a job in Germany and never got in touch again. I tried several times to get in touch but to no avail.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's good to see I'm not the only who has had this happen too many times. They're definitely something I'll remember when put in this situation again. *hugs* :)
No probs. I do hope things turn out well for you both. It's a tricky situation for both people involved and it can be damn hard to get things right. I know I've made so many mistakes in the past with these things. I'm just being cheeky telling you the situation where I think I handled it well ;), as I think you have here. *Hugs back*
Also, you always make me drool so much when you use that icon. Mmmmm Sam's crotch
Oh oh I forgot to mention! I was most most fortunate to very briefly meet Elijah Wood at a premiere in Edinburgh a few years back. He was incredibly cool and sweet. He not only met with the folk at the carpet itself, he ran across the road and said hi and shook hands with us folk who were viewing from over there. Such a sweetie. I mostly just gaped at him because I was in shock but still so cool.
Yeah you do have to wonder what other sexin occured afterwards... and whether or not Eric joined them. Yes you must make more Sam icons and post them along with others you've made. I'd love to see them!
It always pleases me when awesome actors turn out to be awesome in person too. From what I've heard from others Sam is supposedly incredibly sweet and friendly. I really hope he comes back and does another UK con so I can see for myself. (I missed the last one because it happened a month before I discovered TB :() Though I'd have to be careful not to drool all over him.

That sucks you just missed him like that! Hopefully he does swing by again. I follow his Twitter and he seems like a nice, laidback guy.
