I followed your journal from a tattoo post you made and I've been reading your journal now for the last few minutes. I'm intrigued by this post even though it's really old.

Now this is just my personal opinion, so take it for what it's worth. My experience with the whole secrecy issue is that people shroud themselves in secrecy for one of a couple of reasons. Either 1.) what they are doing / saying / etc is something they SHOULDN'T be doing, 2.) they are just plain lying and have no proof to back up their lie, or 3.) they are purposefully EXCLUDING certain people or groups of people they think don't 'fit' in their little mold.

Lemmme give you examples. 1.) The Bush administration. Torture, murder, spying, etc, etc, etc. I don't need to say anymore, do I?

2. Your example above.

3. Now, lemme preface this by saying I'm a practicing wiccan and have trained in several different paths. I've met some wiccan covens that INSIST on not devulging their 'secrets' until you have reached some level of training that they deem worthy. In some cases I have reached said levels of training and see absolutely no reason why their 'secrets' need to remain 'secret.'

Anyway, just my two cents on the matter. Take it for what it's worth.

They're all fair points, really, I just wonder why some people think that they're either not supposed to be doing something that's perfectly natural or excluding someone/ones. I totally understand not wanting to talk about something you have no proof for... People may think you're totally crazy! But I still talk about it. I talk about a lot of things I have no proof for. Color me unique. ^_^
