Tigress liked meditating. It gave her time to reflect on the day. The other members of the Furious Five understood and gave her the space and quiet she required.
Apparently someone had forgotten to inform the great Dragon Warrior.
“Hey, whatcha doin’?”
Tigress repressed the urge to sigh. “I’m mediating.”
“Ohhhhh. Well, then I’ll just wait ‘til your done.”
Even with her eyes closed, Tigress sensed Po settle his bulk near her; precious silence followed. Tigress wilfully hoped it lasted.
It didn’t.
Her keen ears could hear Po fidgeting. When he started humming Tigress gritted her teeth. So much for inner peace.
“Was there something you wanted?”
“Oh no, well. Yeah. Just a question. One teeny tiny question. But it can wait.”
“No,” Tigress argued, “Ask me now. The sooner I answer it the sooner you can leave.”
From the corner of her eye she saw Po shrink away from the acidity in her tone.
“You know what. This was a bad idea. You’re obviously busy,” Po started to back away, “Sorry to have bugged you. I’m gonna just go.”
He didn’t get far before Tigress stepped in front of him, blocking his path.
“You,” she jabbed at him, “do not get disturb me and then get to saunter off. Now ask your question.”
“Ahh, I’d rather not.”
She stepped forward, “Ask. Your. Question.”
In a rush Po squeaked, “Wouldyouliketohangoutwithmesometime?” Po shielded his face with his arms.
The question caught Tigress off guard. It was an innocent question, but the way Po said it, suggested...
As the silence stretched on, Po relaxed into a disappointed slouch. “You know what? Just forget I said anything, kay?”
Before Po could leave, Tigress asked with a smile and a hope, “When and where?”
“You serious?”
“Very.”
The smile on Po’s face was priceless.
