I am this little girl, And that little girl is me!

I will always remember that little girl

In the corner of my eye,
There was a little girl,
Her face was torn and scared,
Her eyes were cold,
Her hands were in fists,
Her teeth were tightly clenched together,
Her head was bowed down and looking at the ground,
With her eyes moving rapidly around,
Some of her finger nails were missing,
Her lips were small,
Her hair was thin and limp,
Her arms were covered in bruises,
Her body was black and blue,
But her body was still,
Her fingers twitched,
As did her body,
Her clothes had holes,
Her legs were bare,
With opened wounds,
Her feet were also bare,
With a toe or two missing,
Her face was pail,
And her chest heaved heavily in and out with every breathe,
Her shin was cracked and raw,
Her chin was bleeding,
But her eyes showed no pain or discomfort,
I asked if she needed help,
She looked at me,
As a single tear ran down her face,
And said,
Why will no one love me?
She then quickly turned away from me,
As she tried to hid her pain,
She wanted to be loved,
She wanted to be loved,
But she hid from it,
And ran from it,
Running scared,
Into the darkest that had consumed her mind,
Running scared,
From life,
And love,
And her happiness,
Why wouldn’t she let her self have it?
Why wouldn’t she let herself be happy?
Why was she scared so,
So I asked that little girl to come back home,
Because everyone missed her so,
And that everything would work out in the end,
And no more running,
No more lying,
Or cheating,
And stealing,
But that it was time to give up,
And give in,
And just grow up,
So I reached my hand out,
And she took it,
Her hand,
So cold and rough,
As we walked toward the sun,
It was beginning to set,
And she then began to disappear,
And slip though my fingers,
And then she was gone,
And once again was a apart of me,
And not separate but a whole,
Because that little girl was me,
And always will be!
