Well, I'm back in Seattle after two weeks traveling around Texas, making some long-overdue visits to family and friends, including
jkray,
anjea, and
aggiemoose04. I even managed to bump into
vaxocentric in Fort Worth. The lovely
jezebeljade was my traveling partner for most of my stay, and we had a great time. It was a very busy vacation, including the following memorable moments:
- my introduction to Shiner's Bohemian Black Lager (which I can NOT seem to find up here, dammit),
- a few epic games of Guitar Hero,
- drinking with my crazy Czech family,
- showing
jezebeljade around the depressing little backwater town where I grew up, - getting Bob the Jeep stuck (briefly!) in soft sand at the beach, and
- some questionable pairings of wine and Thai food.
The weirdest thing about the whole experience, though, was that it wasn't at all weird. As soon as I stepped off the plane in Houston, it was like my life in Seattle just vanished, like I had never left. I'm not really sure what that means...maybe just that I need to make sure I don't wait 18 months for my next visit.
