It was great seeing Chris again. We met at the train station at 9:30 and took a train down to Penrith. First we went to the Gamesmen, where Chris got Saiyuki season three and Gundam Seed Destiny. I just bought the beginner collector set of Trinity Blood. I think the next DVD comes out in February. We mostly just wandered through the stores talking about the usual stuff, i.e; Old times, where everybody is, what everybody is doing, all of us drifting apart, getting back together to play D&D sometime, our futures, work, and stuff like that. Kind of fun conversation, but sad as well.
I had ice-cream for brunch. I like that little cafe near where my network appointments are. Chris still eats like a pig. Being a chef is really the best profession for him, I reckon. He kind of got angry at me for not eating for twelve hours but he really can't make me do anything. He's a guy though, he just can't understand just how whacked out my metabolism can be.
Okay, so at 11:50 we had to part ways. I had my appointment in ten minutes and Chris had to go to work. The train wasn't due for another twenty five minutes so we killed time in the Tin Soldier. That place is awesome. It's a geek's fantasy come true. I was browsing through the written titles and found a Discworld pen and paper RPG! It was so cool, I really wanted it. Unfortunately I'm the only one in my circle of friends who's ever picked up a Terry Pratchett novel and buying the RPG game would have been a waste of my money.
Next came my time for seeking employment. I reckon I did alright today. I managed to apply for six different jobs and I'm hoping one of them will accept me. Two jobs that I'm particularly hoping for is the Tarot Reader position in Penrith or the Games Adviser for the Penrith JB Hi-Fi. Imagine managing video game stock and organising it? I'd have so much influence over what kind of games the store would stock. I doubt I'd get such a job with my past work experience, but one can hope, right?
I came home at about two thirty, wrapped up Trinity Blood and put it under the Christmas tree, then something in the unpacked decorations got up my nose and I started sneezing so badly and frequently that my head and sinuses started to ache, I couldn't see straight anymore, and my nose ran like a leaky tap. I sneezed fourteen times in a row at one point.
So I kept on dropping in an out of a hayfeverish sickly sleep all late afternoon. By the time I said goodbye to Matty and logged off the computer I was fed up with the sneezing and took two drowsiness inducing cold/flu pills. I woke up four hours later feeling moderately better. It's not gone exactly, but it's manageable now. I can see the computer screen well enough to type, right?
Tomorrow is Mt Druitt. I must wake up at a sane hour but try to get some good sleep in at the same time.
