Spring Festival

Tuesdays and Fridays I don't get to talk with Matty as long as I'd like to. It sucks, but it leaves opportunity for me to mope for about half an hour and then put my idle brain into work so I don't start pining or something. This afternoon and evening I was dedicated to writing more of Siren's Way, but I just had to be stuck on a bit that is more boring than difficult to type and my attention wandered away from that.

In the end I turned to my fail-safe menthod of brain stimulation - I wrote about twenty two pages of crude script for my RPG Maker 2000 game, Circle of Sin. Most of the script isn't necessary, but I was programming part of the game where the main character finds herself in a spring festival and I wanted the entire town to be largely interactive.

So you can wander from stall to stall looking at once-in-a-game items, play some basic games like 'Test Your Strength', judge at a vegetable competition, drink the wrong thing at the bar and wind up passed out on the floor, that sort of thing. Like... well, like Harvest Moon, I suppose.

I even added a quiz game that is really an exposition vending machine. Trust me to squeeze in useless information whenever I can. Hee hee.

Once I finish programming and writing the light hearted part I can get down to the serious part, and then the horrible angst-filled part. This game starts out lighthearted, but it gets pretty black pretty fast by about the middle, lightens a bit, then marches off to the end of the game covered in mental scars.

I got my plane ticket today. I filled out the Visa waiver form and all is set.
All is set...
