No West/Random Thoughts

I've decided that I don't care who reads this journal. Anyway, on to my entry.

It's time for me to advertise. I'd like it very much if you all went to http://www.myspace.com/nowest Check it.. add to friends.. comment.. dropkick. Whatever you want.

I suppose I should do a little bit more than just advertise my band. Maybe I could compose some intelligent post that will change the hearts and minds of anyone who reads it. Perhaps I could change the world! Or maybe I could go back to doing absolutely nothing and keep my thoughts to myself. Seeing as I'm in quite the lazy mood as it is, and have wasted enough time babbling about nothing.. I mean, I've turned this entry into a Seinfield episode. Maybe I could include some cheesy life lesson, or a nice conclusion to some family problem at the end, and throw John Stamos into the action and make it a Full House episode. Full House is the corniest show ever, yet I can't help but watch it. It's still a favorite show of mine, and I don't even know why. It's like when you have some pain or cut or something of the sort and you just can't help but touch it, or concentrate on it. Or maybe I just get off to corniness. Keep that in mind ladies.

Anyway, seeing as I've already gone against wrapping this up maybe I'll go in to more important issues. Is music regressing? I found this topic on a message board somewhere and thought about it. Is it really fair to say that music in general is regressing? Opinions based on what is played on mainstream radio aren't well thought out enough to begin with. However, a lot of the stuff that is not in the "mainstream" is shit too. So I've come to the conclusion that good music is good music. You can't argue with that. The only problem with that is people have different opinions on what good music is. Which means many may find that music IS regressing, while others may disagree and say that it's not. Music is definately one of the hardest things to agree on. Everyone has their own tastes, and feelings that they attach subconciously with different songs or albums or whate have you. A song may hit home with me more than someone else, maybe because of the mood I'm in at the time or for whatever reason. Possibly a previous event, or feeling that I've thought but could never say. This is probably one main reason it's so hard to agree on music. Good music is good music, but good music may vary for everyone. Which leads me back to the whole music regressing question.. can anyone ever agree unanimously on what good music is? Can anyone really say that music is regressing? No, not without at least someone disagreeing.

So what has that last paragraph or two proved? Probably nothing. It's more or less jumbled thoughts. Maybe it'll shine some light on those who are hell-bent on showing the world what good music is, when the world can't agree with itself on what is good and what is not. Or maybe you're thinking now that it was a complete waste of time reading through this. You're probably right, but as for me it's time to attempt studying and then head off to sleep.
