King of monsters

May 05, 2008 22:29

I asked a friend this yesterday, and so I started thinking about what everyone else might think about it. So, all right, who would you consider the greatest monster of them all? Monster from the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein's monster, the Mummy, Wolfman, Dracula, Godzilla, the Blob-- the classic guys. I'll let you include comic book villains, too, ( Read more... )

I've always had a thing for the evil, plotting, mind-fucking ways of Hannibal Lector. But, he's not exactly a monster or a comic book villain, so by those standards...

Dracula had a cool, easy-going kind of charm to him. He could be absolutely fucking crazy but you wouldn't know, because he was so damn suave. But it's not like he went around killing everyone.

Hmmm. Being the somewhat nerd that I am, I'm gonna go with Darth Vader, but excluding the first 3 Episodes. Then again, he is kind of like Dracula with a big mask on.....damn, I dunno...

Plus he could work a cape. That's not an easy thing to do. Orpheus pulls it off, but I've seen some people try and they end up looking like someone tied a frumpy bedsheet to their neck.

Darth Vader's a pretty good one. I didn't think about him. You know Al accidentally materialized one of the guys from Star Wars. He had big eyes and was a pilot? Sort of looked like a fish?

Yeah, you can't really just throw a cape on anyone. There's some sort of body structure you've gotta have for cape to work.

Wicked Witch of the West was pretty damn evil. If you don't count that uh, play or whatever.

Oh, man, if I can say a movie villain then I take all of that back. John Doe from Seven. Now that was a messed up bastard.

Big eyes, looks like a fish, and a pilot? Hmm...well it might be Ackbar. Did he have a tendency to shout "It's a trap!"?
Or maybe...did he have kind of melted-looking cheeks and some kinda thick lip? Cuz then it might be Nien Nunb.
...wait, materialized him?

Wicked Witch was a good one, yeah. Or that White Witch from the books with the lion. We read those in school and she was pretty evil as far as I remember.

I never saw that one. Is it any good?

No, he didn't speak English. I'm guessing it's the melted-looking cheeks one. Nien, huh? And yeah, Al accidentally materialized him from a trading card. It's cool, though, he got splattered on the windshield when our jet crashed, so Orpheus said we didn't have to worry about upsetting any universal balances or such.

I think I remember reading something like that. Kinda had time on my hands when I was younger so I read a bunch of different stuff. They kinda blur together.

Seven is a pretty dark movie. I don't want to spoil it, but the ending is just damn.

Hah, splattered on the windshield? Hopefully this uh, after the Second Deathstar was destroyed.

I read what they made us read in school. Comic books were my things. If my brother wasn't chasing me for swiping his it was the comic shopkeeper yelling at me for not buying anything.

I don't think he came from the actual Star Wars universe, if there is one. I mean it was from a trading card. I don't know, I'm not not magic.

Definitely gotta love someone who can pull off a cape and still look intimidating.

Yea I did. Spirit of the beyond my...anyways I wanted to kill him with a shovel, but it all worked out when he went splat.

I think he helped fly the 'Millenium Falcon'...explains why he could fly that plane in the first place...he came from some trading card.

No, no, Han Solo flew the Millenium Falcon. I think that guy was at the end of the first movie in one of those littler ships.

Yeah, Han flew it, but uh, Lando and Nien dude had to fly it at the end of the last movie.
Han was on Endor with those little teddy bears at the time.

Oh, all right. It's been a long time since I've seen the movies.
