Late last night I decided, on a random impulse, to put some random red streaks in my hair. Yes, my hair is already red, but i thought perhaps a few brighter streaks would be cool. And since I still had left over dye, I didn't see any problems at all...
ok, it went fine; my hair now has brighter red streaks in it (I don't like them a great deal, it is for this precise reason that I don't like acting on random impulses) BUT there is a bit of a problem. You are supposed to wear rubber gloves when you use the dye, to keep your hands from being stained, but since I already used the pair that came with the dye, I just used my bare hands. After turning my hands a lovely orange colour, I decided for some stupid reason to wait to wash them until morning (it was late, like 1:30 in the morning, and I just wanted to go to bed).
What a dumb idea.
I woke up this morning, still with bright orange hands, and discovered that perhaps there is a reason that the instructions say to wash any dye off your skin right away. See...I have tried paint thinner, nail polish remover, hydrogen peroxide, normal soap, and some other stuff I can't remember in an attempt to remove the dye from my skin, and it isn't coming off very well at all.
I'm going to have to go to church...with orange hands.
I can't help but laugh at myself. I'm ridiculous sometimes.
