Update on my life
I totally had fun last weekend in Waco. Drinking, girl time, 2 new guy friends (Gabe and Pedro), almost getting busted by the cops... Ya know, the norm. Lol. Yessika, Yara, and I went to visit Nicolle in Waco for some girl time. We ended up party hopping with Gabe and Pedro. So much fun man! True story, funny story, we were almost arrested by the cops at Santiago's place. Well needless to say, we weren't cuz I'm still alive (my mother would have killed me - which is a hard feat considering she's halfway across the world right now). The cops banged on the door and half of us ran into the bathroom - with Yessika threatening to shoot the people who couldn't shut up. By that time I was drunk and mildly scared under all the looseness of the alcohol (I hugged Nicolle around the middle wanting her to protect me...) and wanted everyone to be quiet as well but didn't want to yell in case the cops were inside already. Very funny thoughts looking back. Anyway Santiago ended up coming in telling us to sneak out the back, so we all high-tail it out of there, throw ourselves into Gabe and P's car (I somehow ended up backwards there), and drive off to the next party. We later found out that about 2 seconds before we ran outside, the cops were in the back, and about 2 seconds after we had left in the car, the cops came back into the backyard. Sheer dumb luck!
Regardless of all that excitement, I had tons of fun. It was wonderful seeing Nic again, and this weekend will be the third in a row. The 1st weekend she came here and we went clubbing, the 2nd was us in Waco, and now she's coming back down with, hopefully, Gabe and Pedro, for Carnaval Austin. To which ALL of you should go to! $35 for a fun-filled night of brazilian music, dancing, costumes, and partial nakedness. Who wouldn't have fun with all that? A bit expensive, yes, but well worth it; this is going to be my 3rd year going.
Anyway, all that was a sidenote of the going-ons of this weekend. Back to Waco...
Spent time with Nicolle: check. Drank: check. We laughed loads! Before the party at Santiago's was ruined we were enjoying the company of a bunch of new people. Most of the guests there were hispanic - surprise, surprise - and we spent most of time either debating who's country was better, who's college was better, the awesomeness of soccer, and, of course, alcohol. We also talked about our countries and cultures, our likes and dislikes, getting to know everyone a little better. Honestly it's amazing how kind they all were. The girls and I, other than Nic, knew no one there and yet we were accepted as if they had always known us. I truly enjoyed the company there - hopefully, I'll see them again next we go back. After the 2 parties we went to TJ's apartment until 5AM to just basically hang out cuz we didn't want to end the night quite yet. The hosts put on reggaeton and Pedro and I danced almost the entire time together. Nic, Yara, and Yessika joined a few times, but they, later on, decided to be party poopers and sit or leave. *sigh* You simply can't NOT dance when Daddy Yankee and Don Omar are playing. But Yara has promised to redeem herself by dancing all night long at Carnaval. And you'll be damn sure I hold her to it... ^_^
And now that I'm a bit more awake I'm excited cuz Javier is going to come eat lunch with me in about an hour. YAY!
