WHEE!!! I'm 18! Birthday = Jan. 5.
At first I wasn't really all that excited (except upon thinking of fance clubs and such which I STILL haven't gone to). But then, like, those last few days before the gaining of another year, I was basically bouncing off the walls, barely able to contain my excitement (it escaped me a few times, I'll admit). My actual birthday was wonderful. Nicolle baked me a cake (her delicious confetti cake of which my mother ate 1/2 of (I'm not joking)). At about 5-ish when Linda (Rhian's mom) came home, they sang me happy birthday, I got to blow out candles, and open gifts. Then I went out to dinner at Olive Garden with my family and Nicolle and Rhian. It was comfortable and sweet. Javier and Rhian made absolutely sure that the Olive Garden employees would sing Happy Birthday for me. I get so embarrassed when things like that happen, but it was funny.
After dinner we dropped Nicolle off at her house, so that she could pack because she was returning to Baylor the next morning, and continued to my house for PRESENTS.
Total list of presents:
1. SERENITY!!!
2. A beautiful jewelry box from Bombay that I've been wanting
3. A cute green and white jacket
4. black purse that I've been wanting
5. soft fuzzy socks
6. a rag...Javier's little last minute joke. He went into the laundry room talking about how my mother had forgotten the most important gift and came out with a rag packaged in a pretty gift bag. We all laughed pretty hard when I opened that one up.
*end parents' gifts*
*begin friends*
7. Gigantic bootie slippers (Nicolle and family)
8. blue and silver dangling earrings for clubbing (Nicolle and Family)
9. Melissa going to prom (BWAHAHAHA!!! I'm SO going to hold you to that.)
10. My precious, gorgeous, magnificent ring from Rhian. I never take it off, let me tell ya.
All in all, I had a wonderful birthday. It's a shame it only happens once a year...
Here are some perks of being of age:
1. CLUBBING!
2. I can get better jobs!
3. I get paid breaks at work! That means I get paid for sitting around for 15 minutes! *grin*
Sometime before the school year ends I'm hoping to through a Serenity viewing party and dub it my birthday party. It won't be anything fancy, so no worries. Just a bunch of friends getting together for pizza and junk food and Captain tight-pants. I'll let you guys know when it would be a good time to come over. Maybe during Spring Break? Will anyone be gone? I know we have another 3 day weekend coming up in a few weeks so maybe then.
