Prompt: Red can't beat himself in Pokemon Stadium 2. Somebody else has to do it for him. And he will NEVER EVER LIVE IT DOWN. Perhaps he'll go hide on a mountain in shame for awhile. Or jump the person to prove that he is in fact TOTALLY tough.

"The problem is, you're not using diverse enough pokémon," Ethan explained as he pointed out his team. "Look, you're using all Gen I Pokémon, while the you here isn't. Your team isn't really that diverse when you think about it. I mean, I beat you, and I'm some low-down punk from Podunk."
Red glared sullenly at the TV screen. He was supposed to be the strongest there was on the Joukan continent. The fact he needed aid in defeating himself on a video game rendition of his abilities (of which he was getting no royalties, since it was only his name, and certainly not his likeness). But the first round version was breaking his in-game set-up, based entirely on his own real-life team.
Now Ethan was there, showing the master how it was done. What sort of backward logic was this?
"All your team is so far behind on the times when it comes to move diversity. Here, why does your Pikachu know both Thunder and Thunderbolt? It's certainly not going to benefit from Rain Dance when Blastoise isn't leading. These pokémon do have access to more moves than just the STAB ones or Normal type moves. They're like lumps or something, not very competitive at all. How did you become champion with this?"
Unhitching the cartridge from the controller's adapter pack and shoving it into a handheld, Ethan began updating his in-team roster's moves, and he watched Ethan take his six prize Pokémon-- "No, we're subbing your Espeon for your Lapras."-- five prize Pokémon and water horse and make them almost unrecognizable. It made his eyes widen. Where had he been, that all that potential went to waste? Looking at the moves, Red was already drawing inspiration for what his team should be capable of, once he was done from his short holiday.
"And voila! You have three Blizzard makers that especially make use of the snow and hail on Mount Silver, since dragons are all the rage right now and I figured some homage might be adequate, your Pikachu benefits from its unevolved state, and all you need to do is lead with Charizard to faint Meganium, or even anyone with Blizzard-- hmmm, no, they're all too slow. Maybe Venusaur? STAB Sludge Bomb would obliterate Meganium; you remember Venusaur's part poison, right? Maybe Lapras and Blastoise should have Ice Beam for the moment? Anyway, with this, you should be cruising his ass no tiiiiimgrk!"
The handheld and 64 system were forgotten entirely as Red pushed Ethan down on the couch to kiss him, hard. The brat deserved a reward...and maybe a little showing of just who was Boss of "these regions."
"Holyshit, not theeeeeeeeeee-- nnnmph!"
